Family Profiles

When you are job hunting it is important to know as much as possible about the role you are applying for. The private childcare industry is unique as you are working for individuals rather than companies so it can be difficult to research the role. Lollipop Childcare's family profile service allows you to learn more than the 9-5 details of our vacancies. Knowing a little about the family and the environment you will be working is essential, you need to know that your way of working and your personality will fit well with both parents and children and vice versa. Family References

It is vital when job hunting to research the role you are applying for, this applies to all professions but can be very difficult for childcarers in the private sector. At Lollipop Childcare, along with asking our clients to provide a family profile we also ask them to supply at least one previous employee's contact details. We then take a verbal reference over the telephone; please take a look at the sample famiily reference to see the information provided.

Please note that this is an optional service and not all clients will be able to provide up to date contact details or may not have employed a childcarer before.

Ongoing support

Once we have placed you with a family we available for ongoing advise, guidance and support. If there is a problem we can act as a mediator with your new employer, mediation is always subtle, professionally and friendly. We can also advice you on issues such as pay, career advice and help you meet other carers in your area.
